Why did we get involved in this project?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Cystic fibrosis is a severe genetic disease that destroys the entire body. It impairs the work of all organs that have mucous glands. As a result, it most often affects the functioning of the digestive and respiratory tract, in particular, the lungs, kidneys, liver, pancreas and intestines. It is one of the most common genetic diseases in the world, especially among Europeans.<\/p>\n

Both the length and quality of life of patients depend to a large extent on their access to the latest generation of medicines and effective rehabilitation. Such procedures require specialist equipment. The aim of \u201cThe Piast Race for Breath\u201d is to collect funds necessary for its purchase and support in financing the necessary medicines.<\/p>\n

By becoming a partner of the event, EBIS wants to support people suffering from cystic fibrosis and contribute to raising public awareness of the difficulties that people with cystic fibrosis have to face on a daily basis.<\/p>\n

Organizers and sponsors<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The organizers of the race are the Czernich\u00f3w Commune, the Piast-Farmina Sports Club and the Polish Society for the Fight against Cystic Fibrosis. The event is also promoted by the patients themselves, their families and friends, hoping to raise awareness of the specificity of this disease, among others.<\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that the ambassador of the race is Jagna Marczu\u0142ajtis-Walczak, a fourteen-time gold medallist of snowboarding, and Andrzej Grabowski, a well-known and popular actor, as a guest of honour.<\/p>\n

During the race, you will also be able to take part in the accompanying event \u201cYou don’t run? Come!\u201d. It is a family picnic, with attractions planned, competitions, and DJ and music band performances. So, it is worth it to come with your whole family, spend a nice time in nature and support people suffering from cystic fibrosis.<\/p>\n
